I've got a student in middle school.  She won't talk most of the time to teachers, but will talk with her friends.  She is able to talk but she doesn't.  It is hard to know what she has a question about in ELA.  She recently got some picture cards to tell the teacher that she needs help, but that doesn't help the teacher to know what she has a question about.  I would like to use the picture cards to help her start to talk more.  Is there any type of checklist or chart that I can use to do this?
