Wandering

We have 2 students who tend to wander the building, becoming increasingly disruptive/angry when redirected. Neither one is out-of-seat much in the classroom. Motivation appears to be work avoidance. Thoughts?

If it is between classes or transitioning from one class to another or one period to another, you might try taking passing time away for the day when they are found wandering.

This doesn't get at the root, which you indicated is probably work avoidance. The wandering might decrease or be more easily managed if you increase support for the class or subject they are trying to avoid. You might try some simple things first like having the student repeat directions back, explain assignment, having teacher explain the assignment to them one on one after presenting to class, etc.
